PLEASE WELCOME...CLARE AND THE REASONS
05/01/08 — After sitting in amazement while watching Clare and The Reasons at Central Presbyterian Church in Austin for SXSW, we carefully crafted a plan: woo Clare and her band of highly talented professionals onto the Nicodemus Agency with cupcakes, quaaludes, coffee and the promise of commitment.

Well, it didn't take all of it, but we certainly were glad when Clare agreed to allow us to represent her. Look for a few shows this summer in support of their last release, "The Movie" and then for a full U.S. tour this fall.
GRAMPALL JOOKABOX JOIN NICODEMUS AGENCY
03/29/08 — We also welcome Indianapolis avant-jungle-folk artist Grampall Jookabox into the fold. After a mesmerizing set at Urbana's Canopy Club and a bit of advice from Michael Kaufmann from Asthmatic Kitty, a partnership was born over fruit cocktail and skim mochas the next day when Nicodemus asked for Grampall's permission to set them out on tour. He accepted — and the rest is...well, being planned right now. Enjoy!
THE COTTON JONES BASKET RIDE SET TO TOUR THIS SUMMER
02/13/08 — Upon the hiatus of Page France, lead crooner Michael Nau wasted no time in assembling part two; The Cotton Jones Basket Ride is heading out on tour, releasing EP's and are now officially being represented by Nicodemus Agency. A pair of tours in May and June will accompany the release of an EP on Quite Scientific, and more is planned for the fall.

We welcome them to the roster!
ALL YE SHALL WELCOME MARLA HANSEN!
10/16/07 — Hello again - Hello!

we are proud and prouder to welcome Marla Hansen to our roster! She comes to us from Brooklyn, NY where she lives and works as a professional Violist, assisting the likes of Sufjan Stevens, The National and even filling in on shows for Kanye West and Jay-Z. Needless to say - we are thrilled. Look for her to be touring the States in 2008
PYGMALION MUSIC FESTIVAL - SEPTEMBER 19 - 22
08/06/07 — Hello folks! Pygmalion Music Festival is right around the corner. We host it here in Champaign-Urbana - and want to invite all of you to come! More info: Pygmalion Music Festival
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN - WE ARE FLOATING IN SPACE: ADAM FRANKLIN (OF SWERVEDRIVER).
05/30/07 — It is no secret around the Nicodemus offices just who inspired owner/agent Seth Fein as a young buck just starting out on the drum kit and making music with his former band Absinthe Blind: 1990's Shoegaze-era UK bands - across the board.

If Slowdive isn't being pumped on the office stereo - it's probably early Spiritualized, My Bloody Valentine, Lush, Curve or yes - Swervedriver.

So it is with great admiration and honor that we welcome Adam Franklin - the illustrious and highly talented frontman of the latter band to the Nicodemus Agency roster.

With a new album. "Bolts of Melody" out June 26th on label upstart Hi-Speed Soul - prepare to see Adam out on the road this fall. This album is a return to everything Swervedriver fans have been craving for since the band's demise in 2000.

We couldn't be more delighted.
PLEASE WELCOME... THE FOUNDRY FIELD RECORDINGS AND STARS OF THE LID
05/16/07 — We got a little nutty here at the 'Demus - and we decided to roll the dice on a couple of wild cards.

Stars of the Lid - legendary drone artists on Kranky - challenged us to book them a tour of Planetariums. Enough said. Stay posted.

The Foundry Field Recordings come to us out of the familiar midwest digs of Columbia, MO. And even though Nicodemus learned that lead Foundryman Billy Schuh is a rabid St. Louis Cards fan, we forgave him anyhow on the strength of their tremedous live show and fantastic long player, "Prompts and Miscues". Work on an East Coast tour began almost immediately. Stay Tuned....
DARK MEAT JOINS ROSTER!
04/19/07 — Sometimes, the trek to SXSW pays off. We ventured, and out of all the bands we saw - it was the very first one we wanted. Dark Meat played the Under the Radar / Team Clermont party with Headlights, The Pipettes and Architecture of Helsinki - and blew us away with their 19 person ensemble of horns, heathenism and lack of headroom in the van. We welcome them to the roster. Be on the lookout for their tours to be announced VERY soon!

01/29/07 — Now that summer has waned and autumn has crept in, Nicodemus proudly announces the signing of three new artists to the roster. Decibully, a band signed to Polyvinyl Records will be on the road throughout the fall, testing out new material and playing some old favorites as they march towards CMJ in early November. Shapes and Sizes, signed by Asthmatic Kitty Records also joins the fold. They will be doing a whirlwind tour of the States - out to NYC and back just before Santa squeezes his fat ass down the chimneys of millions of wal-mart shoppers. And finally, Canada of the upstart label, Quite Scientific. They will be doing select dates out to CMJ with roster mates, Headlights. Watch for a new Website soon, as well as Nicodemus Agency showcases in November in Champaign (at Cowboy Monkey) and in Chicago (at The Empty Bottle). Big things on the horizon. THE NICODEMUS AGENCY PROUDLY WELCOMES ASTHMATIC KITTY RECORDING ARTIST LIZ JANES TO THE FOLD!
06/01/06 — Liz Janes grew up in a Virginia suburb of Washington D.C., listened religiously to Casey Casem's Top 40 on the radio Sunday after church, then spent her formative high school years sneaking into Philadelphia jazz clubs. She came of age musically in Olympia, Washington, as a horn-squanking member of the Northwest punk-improv scene, but sang only for herself, recording her own songs on lo-fi cassette tapes. Those secret lullabies and gospel tunes remained unheard until, without her permission, Liz's future husband played them for the acclaimed singer-songwriter-producer Sufjan Stevens (Michigan, Seven Swans). Several months later, a full-length album emerged, produced and arranged by Stevens for his Asthmatic Kitty label. Done Gone Fire, Liz Janes debut album, paired her smoky, mellifluous voice with Stevens' distinctive production, arrangements and accompaniment, drawing on blues, gospel, country, jazz and avant-garde influences.

Liz Janes was nominated for San Diego Music Awards as Best New Artist in 2004, and was invited and performed as a featured artist at both Ladyfest 2003 in Austin, TX and the 2002 and 2003 San Diego SheCollective Festivals. Liz has worked with a variety of artists/bands including The Blackheart Procession, Bedroom Walls, Howard Hello, Soul-Junk, and members of the Danielson Famile and Old Time Relijun.
